Coach Frederick graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 2004 where he continued his education at Clarke University in Dubuque,
Coach Frederick began his coaching career about seven years ago when he started as a club coach. He has coached all ages ranging from eleven to college level. In Dubuque, he coached club at Courtmaster’s Volleyball Club for three years and coached at Dubuque Elite Club for a year. Coach Frederick began his high school coaching career at Dyersville Beckman as an Assistant Varsity volleyball coach. During his time there, the team qualified for the state tournament and made it to the state semi-finals during the first year. From there, he coached two more seasons with the Beckman Blazers before leaving for Europe. Before moving to the Des Moines Area, Coach Frederick spent one year coaching as an assistant at Clarke University where they had their largest win percentage in school history. Varsity Assistant Coach: Stacy Lofstrom
Stacy Lofstrom is the Assistant Varsity Volleyball Coach for the Waukee Program. Stacy has been coaching for 11 years but has been involved in the Waukee program for 5 years now. She has been playing volleyball since she was in 4th grade. She attended high school at North Kossuth, which is now North Sentral Kossuth, where she played and started as outside hitter for 3 state appearance teams. She went on to play at the University of Dubuque in Dubuque, IA. Stacy has received many awards and honors through the many years that she has played. Stacy also coached for the Waukee Volleyball Club program this past year. Stacy still continues to play volleyball several nights a week or in weekend tournaments. Stacy is a Special Education Teacher at Waukee Middle School. She also just received her Master's Degree in November to be an Administrator. When Stacy is not busy teaching or coaching she is busy planning her June wedding to her fiance Wade Mueller. Junior Varsity Coach: Steve Baas
Steve Baas began his coaching career in 1981 as an assistant varsity baseball coach at Ballard-Huxley High School. Two years later, he became the varsity head coach at Ballard-Huxley and directed the Bombers to a 23-6 record and a #6 state ranking in 1985. Steve resigned after the 1985 season due to a career change, leaving the teaching profession and joining FEDEX. Steve remained involved in coaching, returning to Dowling Catholic High School as an assistant baseball coach. In 1990, he was named Freshman Head Coach and moved up to Sophomore Head Coach in 1992. In 1994, Steve was promoted to Varsity Assistant Coach and the pitching coach for the entire baseball program. During his twenty-six year baseball coaching career, Steve was a part of four state championships while at Dowling Catholic in 1988, 1989, 1999 and 2001. Steve's volleyball coaching began while at Dowling Catholic in 1998 as the Sophomore Head Coach. In 2000, Steve was named the Varsity Head volleyball coach at Dowling Catholic. Although things started slowly, the program quickly became competitive, as indicated by the season records, (4-21 in 2000; 10-14 in 2001; 22-10 in 2002 and 32-8 in 2003). The 2003 DCHS volleyball team set a school record for wins in a season and a #7 ranking in the state. During his six year tenure as the DCHS head volleyball coach, Steve compiled a 89-99 record and guided the Maroons to two Regional final matches. Steve was also the Freshman Head volleyball Coach at Roosevelt High School in 2007 and 2008, before joining the Waukee coaching staff in 2009. During his first season as the Warriors JV coach, the team had a very successful 22-8 season record. During my 30 years of coaching, I feel very blessed to have had the opportunity to work with such talented student athletes. Sophomore Coach: Jennifer Woodley
Coach Woodley was a three year varsity letter winner during high school at Shanley High school and Dowling Catholic High School where she graduated in 1998. She went to college at Saint Mary's College at Notre Dame, IN. Here she continued her play with 4 years of intramural volleyball. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in History in 2002. While she was earning her Master's degree in History at DePaul University in Chicago she continued playing volleyball in various tournaments and leagues in the city and on the beach. She earned her second Masters degree in teaching at Drake University in 2007 and began her career as a teacher. She spent two years in the Ankeny school district teaching at the high school and coaching tennis and volleyball. Since 2009 she has been teaching 7th grade social studies and coaching 10th grade volleyball at the Waukee School district. Coach Woodley lives in Clive with her husband Matt. Freshman A: Laura Hoegh
Freshman A: Cassie Baker
Coach Baker graduated from MOC Floyd Valley High School where she played four years of volleyball as a setter. She went on to play at NAIA level Dordt College in Sioux Center, Freshman B: J'nee Offerman
As a player, Coach Offerman played competitively at the high school level at Center Point-Urbana High School in Eastern Iowa and continues to play yearly in various indoor recreational leagues and various outdoor recreational leagues. As a coach, she has coached club volleyball for three seasons, one season at the high school level and two years at grades six and seven. Currently, this is Coach Offerman’s second season with the Waukee High School volleyball coaching staff as the Freshman B coach. |
